  Giving a 1 star rating because 0 stars is not an option. Where do I begin? First, when we entered the building and approached the host stand, the hostess asked us if we had a reservation, to which we replied no and she looked us both up and down in our casual wear with our southern accents and all of the sudden she seemed genuinely confused about how to seat a table. Then we waited for our server who took about twice as long to approach our table than the industry standard. Our server, Katie approached, she was very friendly, but not very knowledgeable about wine. We ordered a bottle anyways and she brought It back about 7 minutes later and it was not at all to our liking. So, we tried again with no assistance nor words of wisdom from Ms. Katie. The second wine was a sample, and this took about 10 minutes to arrive and was no better than the first. At this point my husband asked Katie if there was another, more knowledgeable employee avaliable. Katie took offense, so my husband repeated the question, at which point Katie called upon her manager, Patrick. In the mean time our stuffed mushroom appetizer arrived, 4 caps and some Alfredo sauce for $12. Patrick then discussed wine with us and said he would retrieve us some wine that would better suit our tastes. We watched Patrick walk up to the bar and leisurely pour us a sample of wine then stop to engage in a banter session with one of the other employees. Upon Patrick's eventual return, we tasted and approved of the wine and asked Patrick to please retrieve us a bottle. We did not ask Patrick the price of said wine, but he volunteered that it was "inexpensive." At this point, Patrick embarks on the mission of retrieving our bottle of wine. We wait. and we wait... and 9 minutes later our spaghetti arrived. A young man delivered the entree. I asked him if the meal came with bread, as the menu states it does. His reply was "Well, yeah but you've gotta ask for it." So we asked. And eventually we received. This plate of spaghetti had two large meatballs and about 1 1/2 cups of pasta. For $19. The pasta was undercooked, and the meatballs were less than pleasant tasting. And at this point, Katie was avoiding us because her pride was hurt. Approximately 5 minutes later, Katie wasn't able to avoid us anymore as she was given the task of delivering our wine. She arrived at the table with an irritated look on her face and hastily placed the wine glasses and bottle on the table. She then served the wine and walked away without another word. We didn't see another employee of the restaurant until we had to flag Katie down for the check. $71 was the damages. $12 for 4 mushroom caps in some sauce, $19 for a puny sub par plate of spaghetti, and $31 for a bottle of wine with a twist off cap. (Plus state sales tax) They probably paid $6 for that wine at Wal Mart. This was the most horrible dining experience we have ever had, and we paid out the nose for it. We wouldn't recommend Neighbors to anyone. The one star in this review goes to the quaint, well stocked bathrooms. The assortment of handmade lotions and fresh linens are a nice touch. But not worth the outrageous $71 tab and terrible service.
